end of an era

Ms Cox left BBEC after many years teaching English to thousands of students. I am indebted to her for her support of the library. Prior to my arrival she ran the school library brilliantly. Recently she has been involved with the media team at school and is constantly looking for ways to use new technology in teaching and learning.

Will Hill

Today we had visiting author Will Hill as our guest. He came to speak to year 9 about his book Department 19 and the new sequel The Rising.
Over 100 pupils listened intently as he told them about his interests and writing before reading a few pages of the first book.

Pupils were then able to buy a signed copy from Elaine and Sue from Silverdell bookshop (Kirkham)

Booked up

Unfortunately the scheme that provided free books for all our pupils in year 7 is finishing. This is a shame because I know many children who enjoyed receiving the new books. BUT don't forget we have loads of books in the library for you to borrow!

    Brooms Up for Muggle Quidditch
