Visiting Author

We were lucky to have author and illustrator Chris Riddell visit to talk about his new book Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse. He kept an audience of year 7s and primary pupils entertained with stories and sketches, then everyone was able to buy the books from organisers Siverdell Bookshop.

Lancs SLA training

Our termly meeting included in house training delivered by yours truly and Rosalind from Ripley. We had the chance to experiment with survey monkey with Rosalind and I showed the group some ipad Apps which could be used by the librarians - comiclife, animoto and QR codes, after which they had a go.
Although we welcomed a new colleague, sadly we heard one of our number has lost her job following a schools merger, while our previous chair is working a new role in a primary school

Kids Lit Quiz

Quizmaster and founder Wayne Mills asked 100 questions in ten rounds with a joker being played on the team's chosen round.  The winners of our heat were Cockermouth school who are UK champions
